When you put that on your hip

A couple of weeks ago we celebrated Kyle’s birthday. He was turning the big 3-2 and since we didn’t do anything too extravagant for his big 3-0 we had talked about doing something fun, special and memorable together. When Kyle came to me with the idea of getting tattoos, I was immediately on board. Then when he found a design that had multiple significances to us and was interested in getting matching tattoos I was even more excited. I mean, now he’s forever connected to me in more ways than one, am I right?!

Turns out that deciding to get a tattoo is the easy part – finding someone who you trust to draw a series of straight lines in your body is another. We spent a lot of time talking to friends and people we knew about who they would refer based on work they’d had done and Agape Art Collective in Costa Mesa came up in several conversations. Jake, the owner, has people fly in from all over the world to have him tattoo them. We didn’t need more assurance than that! So Friday night and Kyle’s birthday, we headed over to Agape Art to have Jake tattoo us.

The tattoos have multiple meanings to us. It’s a hexagon, signifying Pollinate Media, our business, but more significantly something that we’ve built together. It symbolizes a bond and a life that we’ve created, our family and who we are to each other and it’s also a reminder that we want to daily challenge ourselves to pollinate the world with God’s love and joy. To take what He’s give us and put in our hearts and not keep it only for ourselves but share it with others.

I love that this was something we did together just as one more way to symbolize what we mean to each other.

What’s your favorite part about being with the person you love?
