Top 5 Hair Products you Need
Hello Rags to Stitches readers!
It’s Natalia from Ma Nouvelle Mode and I’m back again with a beauty post for ya. I think all of the posts I’ve done here at Rags to Stitches have been hair styles. They’re a lot of fun & I think it’s fun to try to wear your hair differently and branch out. But they can be hard sometimes. Hard to explain, hard to copy, hard to get your hair to do what you want!
So today I’m coming atcha with my top 5 hair products that you need to have.
Let me explain. I’m not one for spending all kinds of money on things that people think I need. In fact, I’m rather cheap. However, since writing about and creating hairstyles on my own blog I have personally found that the styles do not turn out the same without good product. It is next to impossible to make it work & look like you want it to. So I’m gonna go through some products and hopefully you will find one or two that you think will help you in your hair styling adventures!
1.) Redken Shampoo & Conditioner
Yes, I know what you’re thinking – “I thought she just said she was cheap!?” These products are not cheap, you’re right. But if you start right from the beginning you will feel the difference in your hair. I know I can when I use Redken and trust me, I’ve used quite a few different shampoos & conditioners!
2.) Root Lifting Spray
Volume! Everyone wants/needs some more hair volume in their life, am I right? I’m right. If you add some root lifting spray/foam out of the shower before blow drying you’ll never go back – I promise! Currently I am using Big Sexy Hair Root Pump and love it. Another favorite is Aquage Uplifting Foam. You guys, I cannot recommend these enough, it’ll change your hair life. No more life-less, limp hair!
3.) Blow Dry Gel
I didn’t realize the importance of this one until I used it. I got it as a sample in a box a while ago and haven’t turned back since. You put a dime-sized amount in your hair and blow dry. I already have pretty thick hair and I was amazed at the overall volume this product gave me. I use Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Blow Dry Gel. It’s really hands down the best, but if you’re looking for a cheaper version, I’ve also used John Frieda’s Volumizing Spray. It’s not as mind-blowing, but it does work.
4.) Good Hairspray
Not just any hairspray! One that holds your style, doesn’t make it crunchy, & smells good! Redken #28 Control Addict is my go-to. It works incredibly and smells oh so pretty! Ever have products that even if they did work, you don’t care because they smelled so bad? I have. And this Redken? It will make you forget all about them. I also love Kenra #25 for a great hairspray. It works fabulously, and IMO ranks right up there with Redken but doesn’t smell as good. It smells good, just not as good.
5.) Dry Shampoo
You didn’t think I’d forget about dry shampoo, did you?! Well, as a girl who only washes her hair 2 times a week (in a good week) I come to rely on my dry shampoo a lot. In fact, I’m pretty sure I use it more than regular shampoo! Big Sexy Hair Dry Shampoo is the best. Not only does it soak up the grease, it creates volume in the roots and helps hold a tease! I also have really dark brown hair and it doesn’t leave a residue or me looking grey, so it’s definitely perfect for all hair colors.
I hope this list helps you get an idea of a few products to try! It can be totally intimidating walking through the isles of Target trying to decide what to buy. Obviously I’m a fan of Big Sexy Hair – it’s a great brand. It also might be clear that I’m a fan of big hair!
I would love to hear what your go-to products are! What are some of your must-have hair products? Or if you have any questions about these products or what products work for what – leave it in the comments! I’ll be sure to get to them!
Have a great day!
