Sew it: Coffee Cozy Gift Card Holder

Hi everyone! My name it’s Caroline and I’m back today sharing a really fun sewing DIY!

Today I am really excited to share with you one of my favorite tutorials: the Coffee Cozy Gift Card holder. Who doesn’t LOVE receiving gift cards? Give gift cards in style this holiday season with this super spiffy gift card holder!

S U P P L I E S:
1/4 yard of quilting cotton
1/4 yard of felt
Coordinating thread

I N S T R U C T I O N S:
Step one: Trace a coffee sleeve from Starbucks (or where ever else you get your coffee!) on to a piece of paper.

Step two: measure 1″ all the way around the shape you drew and cut along that line.

Step three: Using the pattern you created, cut one from the felt and one from the cotton.

Step four: Cut a rectangle that measures 4.5″ x 2″

Step five: Turn under and press all four sides of the rectangle by 1/4″

Step six: Top stitch along the top of the rectangle

Step seven: Center and pin the rectangle in place on the front of your quilting cotton and topstitch around the other three sides.

Step eight: Place the felt and quilting cotton right sides together, pin, and sew along three of the outer edges at 3/8″. Leave one of the short ends open for turning.

Step nine: Clip the corners and turn right side out. Press.
Step ten: tuck in the raw edges of the end you left open and top stitch starting here and going around the entire coffee cozy.

Step eleven: overlap the two short ends by about 3/4″ and top stitch in place.
