If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the last month, it’s that HGTV and Chip & Joanna Gaines sure do make flipping homes look easy! I’ve watched show after show leading up to this remodel, but nothing prepares you for being in the nitty gritty of it. Did you know there are like 50 different white grout colors to choose from?! Say what?! But despite the craziness, there’s something magical and beautiful about watching it come together. I’d like to think this is a lot like giving birth. There’s a lot of preparation, detail and reading involved. And picking backsplash tile is like picking the perfect name for your unborn child. You just hope that when you pop that baby out that they look like the name you picked for them.

So for the meantime, I’m taking a break from kitchen backsplash tile before I need to go get my roots fixed from all the grey’s that have sprouted and I’m playing around with cabinetry and vanity designs. After all, who doesn’t want hidden plugs in your vanity for blow dryers, curling irons, etc?

Can I be honest for a second? I really thought that this project would really challenge our marriage. And as much as I love make up sex as much as the next person, that’s not my ideal way to spend the next several months. BUT… it turns out that we love a lot of the same style + design elements so this process hasn’t been as stressful as I anticipated. Phew! I know I say that and we’re not done yet, but let’s just go with so far, so good.

Here’s some inspiration I’ve been pinning for the master bathroom. What do you think?

xo, Alissa
