Oh my gosh y’all, between coming down with a sinus infection, having my wisdom teeth pulled, Kyle traveling and me playing single mom (Kyle is so much better at that then me) and having friends in town, I’ve been using Instagram for all my lovely microblogging thoughts. But I miss sitting down to this corner of the online world I’ve created for myself and now that I’m feeling better and other than catching up on sleep, I’m feeling good, I have write. You know what I’m talking about right? Did you miss me while I was gone?
Last weekend three of my girlfriends (Jessica, Skye + Jenna) planned a trip out to California to visit. We’ve been talking about doing this trip for over a year + Elevate Conference gave us the perfect excuse to plan a girls trip and make it happen. The girls arrived on Thursday afternoon and we began the trip with In n Out and then drove straight to the beach. The sun was out, the waves were huge and we lasted about an hour before we all started running for shade because we were getting burnt. Being white is no joke people.
Friday morning started with a trip to The 12 to get our asses kicked at Playo + Power day, followed by a selfie in the mirror, because if you don’t document it, it’s like you didn’t go and trust me when I tell you that after surviving that workout, we wanted people to know we were there.
Pink Tank: Your Texas is Showing
Workout was followed by a trip to Sidecar Doughnuts because not workout is complete with out a maple bacon donut to follow. Jessica made this spoon the moment she got home because she brought 2 dozen doughnuts home with her (you’re welcome Brooks!) and I couldn’t resist sharing it. Leave a comment if you think she needs to put these in her shop!! Or maybe one that says “Will workout for donuts.” I think if we rally we can convince her!
Since it was the hubby’s birthday last Friday and he’s amazing letting 3 girls stay with us over his birthday weekend and since we had already decided on a design, we celebrated by getting matching tattoos!! Couples who tattoo together, stay together! Skye didn’t want to feel left out so in honor of her home state and the launch of her awesome business, she got the state of Texas. I’m tempted to get CA somewhere now. Keep an eye on my Instagram, I’ll be showing a photo of the finished tattoo soon!
A trip to Southern California is not complete without a trip to my favorite local taco spot, Taco Asylum. The girls asked and I did not hesitate to deliver. We even met up with my girl Julie Ann Art and talked about life as entrepreneurs. I loved every minute! It’s so much fun to be able to share business wisdom and encouragement with each other, especially over a great meal.
Saturday morning began with an early wake up call so we could get ready and spend the morning on Balboa Island doing some outfit shoots (thanks Jenna! You are amazing!!) and visit Island Tales Bookshop before we went to Elevate Conference. It was overcast with only a slight breeze and we got some great shots I can’t wait to share with you!
Speak of great outfit shots, I’m sharing a giveaway on my Instagram, so be sure to hop over an enter!
We had such an amazing time at Elevate (more to come on that soon). The details were geometrically delicious, the food was amazing and the speakers were so awesome! As a CEO of 3 companies, I could relate to many of the stories that were shared by each of the speakers who spoke. If you haven’t attended this conference, I totally recommend you do next year. We even host an after party after the conference at our home!
I’m so thankful for the incredible weekend I had with my girls, celebrating the amazing relationships that come from being online. I’m so grateful for these girls and for the opportunity to spend a weekend with them!
Tell me about your weekend. What have you been up to? I’ve missed you!
